great book!!
basically this book tells you good places to go and see while you’re traveling.it comes with a nice water proof map of the tub system.all the places are separated into different sections of london (ex. westminster), and it gives you the addresses, hours, bus stops, tub stops, and prices for each place!
found at your local borders!

Alright, so I haven’t update recently because there wasn’t much going on.But, I did have orientation, so I will tell you about that. Everyone meets in the study abroad room in the student center, and there is about 3 speakers that deliver the information.First off, you get this rather large packet (as well as your parents), and a fanny pack thing (don’t worry you don’t have to use it).I’ll go over what’s in the packet because that’s basically what the speakers talked about:On the first page: there is just contact information for everyone you can think of.  Travel Dimensions, the Ball State federal credit union, the director, the grad assistant, the director of the program, scholarships and financial aid, course registration, and the bursar’s office. Second Page:Talks about your food allowance, and how every two weeks you get the British Pound equivalent of US $400.  As well as talking about the bank account you have to get in order to do such. As well as contacts at BSFCU for london participants and families.Third Page:Gives you the information on how to apply for a BSFCU account, and information how to set up direct deposits, or if your card gets stolen, etc. Fourth Page:Talks more about the BSFCU account and the process of the account.  Also, the requirements and what not. An important thing to remember is to plan ahead! Make sure everything is working properly before you leave. Get your account open as soon as you can. This would give us more time, if needed, to work out any problems.Fifth Page:You have your tuition, food, transportation, housing, insurance, program support, and cultural package fees.  The grand total is $14,950.  Not too much over regular tuition, defiantly worth the extra money!Sixth Page:Bursar and loan administration, which talks about your cardinal quickpay, payment plans, financial aid, and reminders.  Something for your parents to look over, or you if you’re taking out a loan or get scholarships. Seventh Page:Has your Ball State University student legal services.  Basically, your power of attorney and explaining all that junk. Eighth Page: You’re not in Kansas anymore!!!  This is a interactive, video-based program which walks you through the process of studying abroad, and culture shock.  The program consists of:Preparing for travel, appreciating cultural differences, u.s. american culture is not universal, health and safety, at the airport, handle the scare, engage while you’re there, reintegrate with care. you receive the e-mail about 3-5 weeks after the orientation which contains the link to the website you need to go to. And this must be completed by December 1st!Ninth Page:Contains your itinerary! (I’ll post a picture of it later)Tenth Page: Has your london centre course descriptions.  The classes you can take are british life and culture (mandatory), art history, theatre, history of british pop music, dragons and wizards:journeys in british literature, and western literature and culture of the 19th and 20th centuries.  I’m taking british life and culture, art history, theatre, and history of british pop music! This page also contains exactly how you sign up for classes (you have to e-mail some lady)Eleventh Page:Your London centre housing information! This is what tells you exactly where you are going to live. All of your flats will have 2 bedrooms.  4 roommates will share a bathroom, tv room, and a kitchen.  The kitchens are completely furnished including a microwave.  Blankets, sheets, pillows, and pillowcases are provided and maid service is provided once a week.  The complex will be within walking distance, or a few tube stops, from City of Westminster College.  The closest tube stop to Westburn is Killburn Park.  Diverse cuisine, grocery shopping, and boutiques are all within easy walking distance!!Twelfth Page:Your packing information checklist.  Essential things to know and miscellaneous items to bring.  You need to know that they have different outlets over in Europe so you either have to buy a adaptor or new things while you’re over there.  And suggestions for the plane.Thirteenth Page:Just your medical insurance and prescription medicines, and what to do incase of an emergency.
